Language Interest Group (LIG) of AEGEE was transfered from Language Working Group, just after Spring Agora 2015 in Asturias.

Previously, Language Working Group had been created from European Day of Languages Project, at Autumn Agora 2012 in Budapest.

The goal of Language Interest Group is to raise the awareness within AEGEE about the value of multilingualism, encourage and help AEGEEans to learn more foreign languages and discus issues related to language policies, minority languages and language diversity.

Our main project is the yearly AEGEE European Day of Languages (EDL). Since 2001 AEGEE follows this example of the Council of Europe and language diversity is celebrated in many AEGEE locals all over Europe. For this we are very thankful to all of you who organize the EDL!
