Children aged 6-16 years old from very different kinds of backgrounds go to camp each summer where they have the opportunity to learn new skills, try new activities, make friends and have fun!!  Exchange students are responsible for those children during the camp. Here are the FAQ about CampAmerica.

How old do I need to be to attend camp?

Be available for nine weeks, leaving for the USA no later than June 28th 2005 (preference is given to applicants who are available earlier and for longer periods).

How long does the placement last for?
The standard placement period for Camp America is 9 weeks, however Resort America applicants must be available for 12 weeks and the Resort America placement period can last for up to 17 weeks.

What skills/experience do I need to have?
Have skills that will be relevant to jobs at a summer camp. You could be a student, teacher, sports instructor or youth worker (Counsellor role). Due to visa restriction only students who are not in their final year can be offered the Campower role, such as ground staff, waitress or chef in your country. For a full list of skills take a look at our Application for Interview.

When does my Visa start and how long does it last?
When you receive your visa it will start on the first day of your camp, however you are allowed to enter the US 30 days prior to this start date but this is at the discretion of the immigration office at point of entry. Your visa expires one month after you complete your placement or October 31st, whichever comes first.
