AEGEE-Rotterdam, like many AEGEE locals, is a flat, open and dynamic association with very few hierarchical ties or constraints.

This structure is being described below.

Association board, advisory board and audit commission

The board administrates the association. It serves a one year parttime term and is replaced by a new board every academic year in September. During this term, the AEGEE-Rotterdam board is being provided with trusted advice from the advisory board (who serve the same term). The advisory board is chosen by the board on the merits of acknowledged experience, mutual trust and common sense.

The treasurer of the board closely cooperates with the audit commission in checking the soundness and transparency of the association's financial reporting.

Project teams & activity commission

The active core of the association lies within the teams and commissions. Project teams typically function during a specific period of time, which might be several weeks up to one year or two years. Projects involve youth exchange programs, debate sessions, AEGEE's European week, and several other items and are overseen by board responsibles.

Commissions focus on AEGEE's social activities. Usually commissions carefully balance AEGEE's project program with its social calendar, to ensure the best combination of both worlds!

Other supporting commissions

To keep an association up and running, some 'staff' functions are indispensable. AEGEE-Rotterdam, as every association, has an ongoing need for people capable of website content management, who possess editorial skills and who are able in PR and fundraising.
