===========================================================

1. Cultural maps

We want to show the cultural diversity of Europe.
Through interactive maps. EXAMPLES:

  1. • Cultural AEGEE places. Let’s create a map with all those monuments and culturally attractive places that we can find in our network together with a brief explanation. And even nicer, let’s take a photo of the members of that city with their AEGEE flag in front of them!
  2. • How to greet a person depending on the geographical place. Do we have to hug? shake hands? nothing? kiss? and how many times?! order, if it’s not the first time?
  3. • Meals timing. Let’s learn when we should be hungry depending of the latitude and the longitude! · removing shoes when entering a host’s house?

2. European Night products book

We want to show gastronomical diversity in Europe.
The idea is to start an online book/map/wiki of the tastiest dishes and drinks of the network that we normally see during ENs.

3. Travelling books

It gathers the opinions about what people learnt in the events.
4 notebooks are travelling around the network. Find them or restart this action with a better strategy.

4. Where am I?

This action is a kind of game/competition, both for fun and to attract and activate members.
The idea is to post in the beginning of the week in the facebook group a photo of a cultural place, but just a piece of it. People have the chance to send the answer of the place they think it is. When a new photo will be published, the solution of the last photo will be given.

5. Postcrossing

The idea is to send a card which has pictures from a cultural aspect from your city/country and to explain it briefly. By cultural aspects we mean famous monuments, paintings, street art, picturesque streets and places, traditional food, costumes and everything ‘cultural’ you could consider. This would contribute in our overall knowledge and would let us discover some facts that we couldn’t have imagined before from any city in Europe.

6. AEGEE Museum

We would like to have a museum that shows the talent of our network through photos of their art pieces: sculpture, painting (any kind), street art… anything! Or some thematic photography galleries that we prepare from time to time. Check them here.

7. School books & Nationalism

Follow up of the debate “Do the textbooks we learn from in school reveal and shape national attitudes?” in the shape of a project with this aims:
1) raise awareness about the lack of European history in schools, and the lack of Eastern Europe history in Western textbooks.
2) increase mutual knowledge in the field of common history.
3) try to set bases for common European textbooks.

8. Cultural European Night award

It gathers best practices of the local European Nights, and prepare a contest with them.

9. AEGEE Stories book

We want to show some aspects of the typical traditions of each culture through local legends.
It would a similar format of “AEGEE-recipe book” but inspired in stories about each region; the process could start asking to the CWG members about typical local stories of their region and after this compile them in a booklet and send it to all the Network to motivate them to create a bigger version introducing more new legends.
